Heartgaps

Heartgaps

She said she loved me, that’s why we should take it slow
My heart on fire buried underneath the snow
It was simple things
Like how she woke up when the sun came up, and stretched out all her toes

By now she’s halfway around the world I suppose
I hope shes careful on those god damn icy roads
It was the little things
Like how I kept her bottles in the shower, if ever she comes home

I was living in make believe
Break my heart quickly please
If there’s any light, if there’s anything like
What we had, baby come back

I said I loved her, and that she should do what’s best
My tears they choked me and they took away my breath
I won’t forget
How she looked back in her side view mirror before she finally left

And then I put back all the pieces to my heart
I wish she’d sent me back all the little parts
To close the gaps
I couldn’t figure this out on my own, without her clever hands

I was living in make believe
Break my heart quickly please
If there’s any light, if there’s anything like
What we had, baby come back

It’d been some seasons since I tossed the photographs
I was doing fine though my heart still has the cracks
It was dark inside
Until that day you passed me on the street and looked into my eyes

I swear I saw beginning, middle, and the end
And for the first time, the light came from within
And suddenly
I was thankful for the cracks she left, so I could share the light I had

With you

I'll share the light I have with you

Firefly

Firefly, remind of summertime
Remind me of late July
When we sat out
With nothing to do

Firefly, bright under the moonless sky
Give my heart a break tonight
Won’t you call me
Just to say hello

Where did you, where did you go?
I have been waiting for you to come home
Where did you, where did you go, baby?
I am lost without you, girl, you’ll always be my light, my firefly

Firefly, your beauty shines straight through the night
You make me lose track of the time
Until daybreak
When we fall asleep

Girl I know, that it was some time ago
But I still feel I know your soul
And you know mine
It’s so worth the fight

Where did you, where did you go?
I have been waiting for you to come home
Where did you, where did you go, baby?
I am lost without you, girl, you’ll always be my light, my firefly

Firefly, remind of summertime
Remind me of late July
At the ocean
Our toes in the sand

I wonder why, it was you who caught my eye
And made me feel oh so alive
And then told me
We could never be

Falling

Falling

Heads on a pillow, feet are dangling
The air so thin
My body shaking, swaying in the wind
Push me in, I'm on the edge, I'm ready to begin

Breathing deep and slow
Losing all control
All I know is I have to jump, because you are all I really want
There's something just too beautiful about falling, falling you for

I'm falling for you

Open my eyes as you look into mine
I don't feel time
You take a breath and close your eyes again
I can't pretend I'm not on the edge, I'm ready to begin

Breathing deep and slow
Losing all control
All I know is I have to jump, because you are all I really want
There's something just too beautiful about falling, falling you for

I'm falling for you
I'm falling for you
I'm falling for you

If I jump, will you jump too?
Cause I could lie here forever, falling next to you
I will jump, I'll jump for you
So I could lie here forever, falling next to you

Breathing deep and slow
Losing all control
All I know is I have to jump, because you are all I really want
There's something just too beautiful about falling, falling you for

I'm falling for you
I'm falling for you
I'm falling for you
